| Applicant's Manual |
| An applicant who wishes to conduct a clinical study / laboratory animal study / study on biological samples must complete the form available at: |
| https://apps.umfst.ro/Cetica.php?oper=Login |
| To log in, the applicant must enter their unique identification code. If the applicant is not yet registered in the database, they must fill in their personal information (name, surname, email address, phone number). If they are already registered, they may update their personal information if necessary. |
| After clicking the Continue button, the page displaying all of the applicant’s submissions will appear. |
| For any new request |
| - select the type of study (clinical, experimental, biological samples) |
| - select the purpose (bachelor's thesis, dissertation, PhD thesis etc) |
| - click on the Request for new study button, then attach the documents: |
| New request – clinical study, required documents |

| - written information to be provided to the subjects |
| - informed consent form template |
| - supervisor’s approval of the study (only for students, master’s students, PhD students) |
| - approval from the institution from which the research subjects originate |
| - declarations of interest from all involved members (merged) |
| - approval from another Ethics Committee (optional) |
| - request for exemption / waiver (optional) -- request for exemption |
| New request – experimental study (on animals), required documents |

| - supervisor’s approval of the study (only for students, master’s students, PhD students) |
| - approval from the UMFST G E Palade Târgu Mureș veterinarian -- approval from veterinarian |
| - or a statement that the study will not be conducted at the UMFST biobase |
| - declarations of interest from all involved members (merged) |
| - approval from another Ethics Committee (optional) |
| New request – study on biological samples, required documents |

| - supervisor’s approval of the study (only for students, master’s students, PhD students) |
| - Approval from the institution that owns the biological samples / data from biological banks |
| - declarations of interest from all involved members (merged) |
| - approval from another Ethics Committee (optional) |
| After uploading all required documents, the applicant must wait for the Ethics Committee’s response. |
| Later, the Ethics Committee may request the applicant to add further documents to the application: |
| - investigators’ CVs (merged) |
| - other documents (merged); the committee will specify exactly what documents need to be added |
| Request to Extend a Study |
| The applicant clicks the Extensions button, and the approved requests will appear in a new window. The applicant selects the request for which they wish to request an extension, uploads the supporting document, and clicks the Extension button, after which they must wait for the Ethics Committee’s response. |
